UK & Nearby Spinning (and some Weaving) Resources - Suppliers, Courses and Workshops and Fleece

I've put this list together from people I've bought from, or met, or been told about, or who have sent me literature or e-mails or from interesting adverts that I've seen in magazines. Its not an advert for anyone - but a list of contacts which I hope might be of use to spinners. If I've missed out your favourite, or got anything wrong, or you'd like me to add a few lines about yourself, please let me know at:

Innerleithen Spinning Wheels
Rod Grant writes "I have been building spinning wheels for more years than I care to admit. Unfortunately the day job tended to restrict my wheel building ( Head of Technology at a large private school in Edinburgh). I have now retired from teaching Craft / Design subjects to make wheels full time. I am offering a bespoke build / repair service to spinners and I also have as a production wheel, a little Shetland upright wheel. I am using local sourced hardwood and Ash is in favour at present. The wheel is completely ballraced with the footman linkage using rodends. I find that this technology eliminates the rattle and general spinning noise.my web site is www.innerleithen-spinningwheels.com"

Mr. Woolsey writes:
There is only one spinning wheel craftsman remaining and he lives in a remote part of North West Ireland. He is the fourth generation of his family to handcraft spinning wheels to time-honoured traditions. The wheels are fully functional and although many are sold to spinners, others adorn homes and retail premises world wide. I have shipped wheels to the US, Europe, Australia and one to Africa. (The former vice-president of Nigeria is the proud owner!)
If you would like further details including a photo of these beautiful wheels, I would be delighted to respond.

Rozendaal Flock.
Kaat Deceuninck writes from Belgium: "I am a biologist and I was a teacher, but now I'm a sheep breeder, with the emphasis on wool. Our Rozendaal Flock comprises registered pedigree Ile-de-France sheep. The breed is 75 % Rambouillet merino and 25 % Dishley Leicester. The development of the breed began in France in 1832 till 1900 and the Flock Book was born in 1922. They have stunningly good fine wool all over their body. Our wool flies off the farm as soon as it is off the sheep. Handspinners are eager to buy it. I'm running our organic farm with part time help from from husband . We cultivate all the food for the sheep ourselves. We are grateful to share the lives of our animals and to use their fibres. We treat them with respect and kindness at all times and are trying to give them the best possible lives we can. Our organic fleeces can be reserved in advance on a first come first served basis"
